"What mental health needs is more sunlight, more candor and more unashamed conversation about illnesses that affect not only individuals but their families as well."

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological and social well-being.

It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices.

Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.

We all have mental health.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is the help offered to a person developing a mental health issue, experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health issue or in mental health crisis.

The first aid is given until appropriate professional help is received or until the crisis appears to have been resolved.
