Domestic Abuse, Stalking, Harassment and Honour-Based Abuse

Who Should Attend?

All professionals working in the field of public protection including domestic abuse, stalking and harassment, honour based abuse, safeguarding children, safeguarding vulnerable adults, missing persons, sexual violence, MARAC, MAPPA, mental health and homicide.

How Long is the Training Session?

This is a 1-Day training course and can be delivered face to face or online.

Please note that there is some pre-course preparation work required which should take around 2 hours to complete and which will be referenced during the training.

What Will I Learn?

At the end of this training session you will be able to:

  • Understand the dynamics of domestic abuse, stalking and so-called Honour-Based Abuse (HBA).

  • Describe some characteristics commonly held by perpetrators.

  • Understand the human and financial cost of domestic abuse, stalking and HBA.

  • Be able to identify high-risk cases of domestic abuse, stalking and HBA.

  • Describe the impact that the behaviours have on victims' lives.

  • Describe risk and how to identify and manage risk in cases.

  • Explain the DASH Risk Assessment Model.

  • Be able to identify dangerous and serial perpetrators.

  • Gain confidence in making defensible decisions based on the evidence from extensive research of cases including domestic homicides, near misses and lower level incidents.

Course Fee:  £99 per person or £1000 for a private course for up to 25 delegates.
